Overview
Working in the Food and drink sector? Creating a brand name, website or a secret recipe?
If so, you need to be aware of your Intellectual Property rights and how to protect them.
The food and drink sector is a very successful and significant part of the Northern Ireland economy. Companies in this sector create and use Intellectual Property (IP) all the time perhaps without even realising it. Whether it is the name of your company, branded products, bespoke machinery, website or even photographs and marketing materials, the value of the IP assets can far outweigh the value of your physical assets.
What you will learn
This workshop presented by Intellectual Property Office (IPO) staff aims to give participants a good overview of IP and how it can impact on businesses from the Food and Drink sector.
Participants will gain an understanding of trademarks, patents, copyright and designs reinforced through the discussion of food related IP examples.
Note: While these workshops are specifically developed for the food and drink sectors companies from other sectors may also find them a useful way to gain an enhanced working knowledge of Intellectual Property.
