Overview

Smart Energy Innovation Funding Seminar

In the 2015 Autumn Statement the government committed to doubling the UK’s energy innovation spend, such that by 2021 it will have doubled to over £400m per year. This builds on energy innovation initiatives under the previous Coalition government.  Currently, funding support is available for flexibility markets feasibility studies, innovative non-domestic demand side response demonstrators and Vehicle to Grid charging systems, with a total funding of £28.2m.

Why attend?

At this seminar you will hear from Sally Fenton, manager of the Smart Energy Innovation group from the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial strategy, who is responsible for managing spend of this funding. Sally will discuss current energy related funding competitions as well as upcoming competitions that are available for Northern Ireland businesses.

You will also hear from Tim German of the energy systems catapult, who will tell us what they do, what they can do for Northern Ireland companies and how NI companies can become more involved.

Lastly, Dr Aggelos Zacharopoulos from Ulster University and Dominic McLarnon of Solaform will present a case study, sharing their experiences in recently securing funding for an Energy Catalyst project.

Come along to find out the scope for each competition, how to apply and also any upcoming competitions.
